What to Expect
As a newborn photographer in Wigan, my goal is to make your session as relaxed and stress-free as possible. When you arrive at my home studio, everything is already warm, cosy and set up, so you don’t need to worry about anything.
Newborn sessions usually take around 2–3 hours, and we follow your baby’s pace the whole time.
Most babies need feeding, cuddling, burping and settling during the session, this is completely normal. Nothing is rushed. If your baby wants to stay awake for a bit, that’s fine. If they fall asleep quickly, great. If they cry, we simply take a break and try again. I’m patient and calm, and I always make sure you feel comfortable.
Parents and siblings are welcome to join the photos, and we will take a mix of baby-only and family images, depending on what you prefer.
When to Book
Newborn photos work best when baby is between 5–14 days old, because they are still very sleepy and curl up naturally. But if your baby is a bit older, that’s absolutely okay.
I happily photograph older babies too.
Most families book while they are still pregnant so they don’t miss out, but I have last-minute spaces. If you're looking for a newborn photographer in Wigan soon, message me and I’ll do my best to fit you in.
My Style
My style is natural, soft and timeless. As a natural newborn photographer in Wigan, I use minimal props and mostly work with whites, creams and gentle tones. The focus is always on your baby, their tiny details, their stretches, their little expressions and the real connection between you and your family.
Safety
Safety is the most important part of newborn photography. I only use poses that are natural and comfortable for your baby. I never force a baby into a position they don’t like.
Your baby can feed, cuddle, stretch, or fall asleep whenever they need to. The studio is kept warm, the wraps and blankets are clean, and everything is prepared with your baby’s comfort in mind.
You can relax knowing your baby is safe the whole time.
Why Choose Me
Choosing a newborn photographer is a very personal decision, and I want you to feel completely comfortable from the moment you walk in. I’m calm, patient and very gentle with babies, and because I’m a mum myself, I understand exactly what the newborn stage is like. My style is simple, bright and timeless, without heavy props or anything that takes the focus away from your baby. Sessions are relaxed and never rushed, and I talk you through everything so you always know what’s happening. My home studio is warm, clean and prepared for newborns, so you can just sit back and enjoy the experience. I genuinely love capturing these early moments for families, and if you want a newborn photographer in Wigan who keeps things natural, friendly and stress-free, you’ll feel right at home with me.
How to Prepare
Here’s what helps your session go smoothly:
• Feed baby before you leave the house if possible.
A full belly usually helps baby settle when we start.
• Bring extra milk.
If you bottle-feed, pack more than you think you’ll need, babies often feed more during a warm, cosy session.
If you’re breastfeeding, try to avoid gassy foods the day before your session, as they can sometimes make babies a little uncomfortable or gassy during the photoshoot.
• Bring a dummy if you use one.
Even if baby doesn’t use it much at home, it can help them settle between poses.
• Dress baby in a loose outfit.
Something easy to take off without disturbing them (like a zip baby grow). Avoid anything that leaves marks on the skin and don't put any oil or lotion on them.
• Keep your own outfits simple.
Neutral colours work best whites, creams, beige. Avoid logos or busy patterns.
• Siblings
If siblings are joining, tell them it’s going to be fun and quick. Light colours look best on them too.
